Engaging Residents in Mortality case reviews
Project Description: Residents have knowledge of front line quality and patient safety issues. Each department has case reviews to perform and residents can be very helpful in performing case reviews with a structured tool to capture key information. The cases are then discussed with a faculty mentor and systems issues are identified. These systems issues can then be discussed and reviewed at Departmental M&M or QEC meetings. Action items can be created and addressed. Residents find this an educational experience and this can be part of any QI curriculum.
