Evaluating the Use of Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor in Solid Organ Transplantation
Project Description: Filgrastim is a recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates the production, maturation, and activation of neutrophils to increase both their migration and cytotoxicity. Filgrastim has been studied extensively in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cancer but there is low level of evidence for its use after solid-organ transplantation (SOT). Currently, there is no guidance of how/when to use G-CSF at our institution in SOT. This project is to summarize the current use of G-CSF in SOT patients at our institution.
