Albumin Utilization in Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis
Project Description: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is the development of a bacterial infection in the abdominal cavity. In addition to antibiotics, albumin has been shown to improve mortality and reduce the incidence of renal failure. An evidence based albumin order set was created for the treatment of SBP. The objective of this QIPR project is to review albumin utilization in SBP and the impact at UF Health Shands Hospital.
